Since OhSo Bare’s inception in June, our brand has grown from strength to strength, with four sell-out product drops in just the first few weeks. Helping people switch to non-toxic skincare for their faces, bodies, and families has always been at the heart of our mission. The Reason Behind OhSo Bare
If you’re new to OhSo Bare and unfamiliar with our humble beginnings, everything traces back to our founder, Chantelle Thompson. As a mother of two, Chantelle became deeply mindful of the products she used on her own skin and her family’s. While searching for safe sun protection, she found a significant gap in the market for products that not only protected but were also free from harmful chemicals. Driven by a desire for safer skincare, she began creating her own sun cream using only the highest-quality ingredients, sharing it with friends and family who urged her to bring it to a larger audience. Nine months later, OhSo Bare was born - a suncare line that goes beyond traditional beauty products by emphasising clean, non-toxic ingredients that genuinely support skin health.
More About Our Journey
Chantelle’s passion for skincare grew as she became more aware of the harsh chemicals and synthetic ingredients that often fill most beauty products, including our suncreams. The gap in the market, a growing need for sun care that truly nourishes the skin without compromising on purity and protection, made our aim clear: to create a line that felt as good for the skin as it was safe for the body, crafted from only the highest quality organic and raw ingredients.
Working out of our Manchester HQ, she set out to establish a brand that would reflect her commitment to sustainability and authenticity. “Every product is crafted with care,” Chantelle shares, a process that is a blend of knowledge, passion, and her own deeply held values around health and wellness.
From Concept to Creation
OhSo Bare started in Chantelle’s own kitchen, where she spent hours mixing botanical oils, testing different ingredients, and perfecting formulations. She was adamant about every ingredient meeting her high standards: they had to be safe, effective, and, importantly, organic, non-toxic and natural. The early development of OhSo Bare was filled with research and experimentation, focusing on how each ingredient worked with all different skin types and needs.
Through trial and error, Chantelle crafted our initial product range. She tested her formulations on herself, friends, and family, ensuring that each product was not only safe but effective. The early feedback was overwhelmingly positive, reinforcing her belief that people were ready for a brand that prioritised transparency and wellness in skincare.
The name “OhSo Bare” itself embodies what we as a brand aims to offer: a return to basics, a commitment to natural and essential ingredients, and a skin-nourishing experience that feels as close to natural as possible.
